The Reading Between The Lines Church in Borgloon has been high on our to-do list for a while now. “Reading” up on this mysterious landmark, one of the distinct assets is its location in the middle of nature. And ‘pretty nature' happens to be the distinct asset of the Haspengouw region. We ordered some sunshine and good vibes and decided to make a day out of it.
Since the corona lockdown was announced in March 2020, we have done a lot of ‘walks’. Walks just around the corner, in the forest, in the middle of nowhere. Slightly fed up by all the walking and not being able to travel abroad, time to get a little bit creative and add some adventure to our day trip. We didn’t jump out of a plane (that’s for later 😉) but we did discover the largest fruit and wine region of Belgium on two Vespas. It was so much fun! The abundance of apple and pear trees in the midst of a hilly and vast landscape truly makes the Haspengouw region a gem worth to visit. Pictures say more than a thousand words:
When we arrived at the Reading Between The Lines Church, our first impression was that it is quite small.
Always trying to look behind our first impression, we ended up spending quite some time there, because the entire concept is quite peculiar. The church consists of 100 stacked steel plates where you can literally see through.
What sets it apart is its location on a hill in the middle of nature with great panoramic views.
A perfect place to relax and unwind!
